IPC AND VOCATIONAL TRAINING

ELAS Ltd. draws on the extensive experience gained through the leading electronics equipment manufacturers we work with to provide electronics manufacturing technology consultancy and manufacturing support, and from the very beginning we have placed a high priority on professional training. Our training courses are basically divided into two main areas, IPC and electronics manufacturing technology courses. IPC -Association Connecting Electronics Industries - is a voluntary international association of electronics industry players, whose recommendations and standards are incorporated by the majority of industry players into their own internal standards and specifications. The IPC training courses are based on the "train the trainer" principle, with a three-tiered training system (MIT-Master IPC Trainer, CIT- Certified IPC Trainer, CIS-Certified IPC Specialist). Through our Master IPC Trainer colleague, all successful candidates in all other courses except IPC-A-600 can obtain a CIS or CIT numbered diploma. ELAS Ltd is certified as a LICENSED TRAINING AND CERTIFICATION CENTER (J-STD-001) by the IPC.

IPC trainings:

  • IPC-A-610E Acceptance criteria for electronic assemblies Training
  • IPC-7711B/7721B Electronics assembly rework, modification and repair training
  • IPC J-STD-001E Soldering requirements for electrical and electronic assemblies training
  • IPC/WHMA-A-620B Cable and wire harness assemblies requirements and acceptance training

Electronics manufacturing technology training:

  • Stencil printing technology
  • Dispensing technology (solder paste, one- and two-component adhesives)
  • General soldering technology, reflow , wave and selective soldering
  • Manual soldering
  • Process for handling moisture-sensitive materials
  • Undercoating application technologies
  • Electronics testing (AOI, X-ray, Flying probe, ICT and ISP)

IPC-A-610 - Acceptability of Electronics Assemblies

Through our IPC-A-610 Master IPC Trainer, IPC-A-610 training courses can provide internationally recognised CIT or CIS numbered certification for those who pass the exam. In addition to the compulsory 2 modules, the other 7 modules will be delivered in accordance with IPC rules and regulations, as agreed with the client. Diplomas are valid for 2 years. Renewal of qualifications obtained elsewhere in accordance with IPC rules is also possible. The training can be held in the classroom of ELAS Ltd. or on the premises of ELAS Ltd.

IPC-7711/7721B - Rework, Modification and Repair of Electronic Assemblies

Through our IPC-7711/21 Master IPC Trainer, IPC-7711/21 training courses enable successful candidates to obtain an internationally recognised CIT or CIS numbered certificate. During the training, students will put what they have learned into practice and demonstrate their ability to manually solder, repair and modify circuit boards and use the standard. In addition to the 1 compulsory module, the training will be conducted in accordance with the IPC rules and regulations, the other 8 modules will be agreed with the client. Diplomas are valid for 2 years. Renewal of qualifications obtained elsewhere in accordance with IPC rules will also be undertaken. The training can be held in the classroom of ELAS Ltd. or on the premises of ELAS Ltd.

J-STD-001E - Requirements for Soldered Electrical and Electronic Assemblies

Through our IPC J-STD-001 Master IPC Trainer, IPC J-STD-001 training courses can provide internationally recognised CIT or CIS numbered certification for those who pass the exam. The J-STD-001 E standard is an internationally recognised and applied industry standard that describes the requirements for soldering in the manufacture of electrical and electronic assemblies. It includes requirements for the materials (soldering materials, fluxes), components (drilled and surface mounted), tools, cleaning and inspection (product assurance) process to be used. The chapters of the J-STD-001E standard relating to components and circuit carriers are consistent with IPC-A-610E. During the training, students will acquire both theoretical and practical knowledge of the standard. The training includes significant soldering practice. For CIS training, in addition to the 1 compulsory module, the other 4 modules are delivered according to IPC rules, as agreed with the client. Diplomas are valid for 2 years. We can also undertake renewal of qualifications obtained elsewhere in accordance with IPC rules. The training can be held in the classroom of ELAS Ltd. or on the premises of ELAS Ltd.

IPC/WHMA-A-620B - Requirements and Acceptance for Cable and Wire Harness Assemblies

The IPC/WHMA-A-620B course provides the opportunity to obtain an internationally recognised CIS numbered diploma. During the training, students will learn the acceptance criteria for wire and cable assemblies. The new (Revision B) standard includes extended acceptance criteria for connector moulding, filling, crimped joints, insulation piercing connectors, connector assembly, rigid and conformal cables, flexible insulating sleeving, broom-type wire layout, electrical and mechanical test procedures. At the end of the course, the student will be able to carry out tasks related to the quality supervision of wire and cable installation. The training will be carried out in accordance with IPC rules in addition to the mandatory Module 1, together with the other 7 modules, in agreement with the client. Diplomas are valid for 2 years. We also undertake the renewal of qualifications obtained elsewhere in accordance with IPC rules. The training can be held in the classroom of ELAS Ltd. or on the premises of ELAS Ltd.

Electronics manufacturing technology courses

The training focuses on the theoretical and practical knowledge of each manufacturing technology topic and the links between them. During the training sessions, we provide a wide range of case studies and practical experience, drawing on the experience accumulated over more than a decade at ELAS Ltd. and the expertise of our professionals in these fields. Before the training sessions, we conduct a knowledge assessment and consultation on demand. The training can be held in the ELAS Ltd. classroom or on the premises of ELAS Ltd.
